Cooking has never been my strong suit, so when I entertain, I always look for ways to keep my time in the kitchen to a minimum. That's why I love fondue! Now, I know it can be a little cheesy (my personal favorite) but there's just something about my guests actually preparing their own food that warms my heart! Besides, how many cooking styles will actually work for the appetizer, main course and dessert? Fondue will—and it does them all with a lot of style and just a little effort!

On Your Mark. Get Set. Dip!: I love fondue as an appetizer! It's a great way to get the conversation started around the table while your guests experiment with breads and even some bite-sized fruits dipped in a blend of melted cheeses.

The Main Event: Fondue is also great dinner theater. Whether you're using boiling oil, a broth or a wine recipe, it brings the excitement of the kitchen out into the open. Guests can try their hand at cooking seafood, meats and veggies and sharing their results. Make sure to have a slotted spoon handy to hunt down pieces that fall off the fork!

Your Just Desserts: Seriously, who can resist chocolate fondue? I can already smell the melted chocolate and picture the mouthwatering assortment of fresh fruits, pound cake and cheesecake pieces! For fun, try mixing it up: offer guests milk, dark and white chocolate for dipping. Or maybe even mix two together for a killer combination? Whatever you do, make sure that all of your dipping foods are pre-cut into bite-sized pieces. This eliminates "double dipping"—a major Fondue faux pas!

Don't be afraid to think outside of the pot. After all, it's chocolate! What could go wrong! And whatever you do, hang onto that fondue set! Or you'll only be replacing it again in just a few years. There's just something about the allure of good friends, good food and good fun around the table that makes fondue the "fun-do" way to entertain!
