New Wine Bar and Retail Shop Moves into Old Epicurean Spot

Scottsdale’s thriving wine scene will soon welcome a new player. Opening June 8th, in the old Epicurean wine spot, Scottsdale area residents and visitors can unwind with a new wine bar experience blending unique and affordable in a neighborhood setting. Crush’d Wine Bar and Market is positioned to make its mark as a top wine bar with a first-rate retail selection, tastes and atmosphere. Set among the Paradise Valley/Scottsdale neighborhoods, Crush’d will offer an expansive collection of wines and craft beers paired with a health conscience Mediterranean style menu.

Situated on the southwest corner of Scottsdale and Thunderbird Roads, Crush’d blends the feel of a comfortable and casual wine bar and bistro with modern designs and eclectic accents. Customers can look forward to the experience of Crush’d whether they already love wine, are curious about learning more or simply want to pick up a bottle for dinner or enjoy a glass of wine after work. The expertise and passion that its owners possess will lend itself to an inviting, sophisticated environment where patrons are encouraged to get involved in the wine experience. Crush’d promises to be hands-on with their customers – offering advise, education, ongoing wine tastings, and classes – in addition to being behind the counter daily to share their knowledge and enthusiasm.

The brainchild of husband and wife David and Dana Rivera, Crush’d will give wine enthusiasts a venue to enjoy and learn more about wine in a fun, customer-focused setting. The new to open wine bar, with an indoor lounge and patio seating, will be a welcoming place to share tasty selections. After dining, customers will be able to choose from a varied selection of wines and craft beers, in the full-service retail store, to take home for their enjoyment. Customers are also able sign-up for email alerts about upcoming events, monthly featured wine picks and online specials.

Crush’d retail store will offer a diverse selection of carefully selected domestic and imported wines from owner David Rivera, Sommelier. The inventory will be rotated and updated continuously to allow for new and interesting wines. And if there is something you like but do not see it in our selection, please let us know and we will do our best to accommodate you. The wine bar will feature an exceptional selection of wines by the glass or guests can choose a “flight plan” which allows for sampling different wines. The wine list will change frequently to allow guests to return and experience new regions and flavors. Crush’d will also include some of the world's best craft beer among their selection. In addition, exceptional local brews will be featured including selections from Sonora and Four Peaks Breweries.

According to Crush’d owner, “bottom line, Crush’d will be a wine bar, a place where you can discover new wines and regions, not just a place to get a glass of wine. Our goal will be to create a new level of the ‘neighborhood bar’. Crush’d wines will be rare and delicious with value in mind”.

Crush’d will be opening June 8th, 2009. Our hours will be Sunday through Thursday 11a.m. to 10 p.m., Friday and Saturday 11 a.m. to midnight.
