Cyndy Carstens won her first art competition at age 6, and the honor changed her life forever. She was awarded a summer scholarship to the highly regarded Art Institute of Minneapolis - an experience which inspired her to pursue her career as an artist.
Since that youthful initiation, Carstens' work has been featured in exhibitions throughout the United States. She has worked in a variety of mediums, including oil, graphite, acrylic, watercolor and mixed media. Her work has been recognized with numerous awards and exhibitions including:
Carstens' paintings are found in private collections across America, Canada, Europe & Australia. Corporate collections include companies such as Intel Corporation, Banner Alzheimer's Institute & Consortium, B&F Corporation, Gray Manufacturing, Shaw Company, Inc., Canada Farm Arabians, Crystal Meadows Ranch, and Bank of America. Recently, Carstens teamed with sculptor Kevin Caron to create the exhibition Elevation - Reaching New Heights in Paint & Steel at monOrchid Gallery, Phoenix.
Carstens and her paintings have been the subject of numerous newspaper and magazine articles over the years, including Southwest Art, American Art Collector, Phoenix Home & Garden Magazine, and The Arizona Republic. Cyndy Carstens and her husband live in Phoenix, Arizona
