Craft 64 Celebrates its First Year by Lynette Carrington Craft 64 has been open for one year in Old Town Scottsdale and what a year it’s been! In addition to winning multiple awards, it has also won over the hearts and taste buds of locals and visitors alike with its local craft beers, fresh, locally-sourced food and artisan, wood fired pizzas. “We’re working on our first year anniversary party,” explains owner and operator at Craft 64, James Swann. “It is going to be later in May, approximately 64 days after our official anniversary date. We did the same thing for our grand opening. We went 64 into business before doing our grand opening.” The date is yet to be determined, but Huss Brewing, SanTan Brewing and SunUp Brewing will also be on hand for the big celebration, along with local wineries and a host of outstanding food specials. For up-to-the-minute updates, follow Craft 64 on Facebook or on Twitter. Crafty Blond is now flowing and is the latest in a series of signature beers being brewed by Craft 64. Swann says, “It’s a light crisp, American golden ale made for Arizona beer drinking. It’s my recipe and I went and brewed it.” Also, don’t miss the Huss Brewing Grapefruit IPA that was just added into the mix. It’s a perfect summertime beer. There is also a wonderful new selection of mules and any mule can be made “skinny” upon request. Some varieties include The 64 with Deep Eddy grapefruit and lemon vodkas), Boys of Summer with Hanson organic boysenberry vodka and fresh Meyer lemon and the Georgia Peach with Deep Eddy peach vodka, peach liqueur and fresh orange, plus many more!A new artisan, wood fired pizza has been added to the menu, too. The “AJI” features fresh, house made organic jalapeno sauce and mozzarella cheese, fresh spinach locally sourced sausage and wine braised onions. This is definitely not your mama’s pizza!Whether you go for the food and stay for the beer or vice versa, you’ll be glad that you visited Craft 64.
